Hotpoint Washer Dryer
If you’re considering a Hotpoint washer dryer to add to your home or apartment, you’ll probably want to check out the various models that are available. Which one you choose will depend on what kind of space you have for the machine, as well as how much you have budgeted.
But first – what is a “washer dryer” – is it something stackable, two separate machines, or two machines in one?
Washer Dryer 101
For the typical person in the USA, a washer dryer means two separate machines (whether stackable or freestanding). However, to some savvy Americans and most UK residents, a washer dryer is an integrated unit. In fact, they are also know as integrated or all in one machines.
The washer and the dryer operate in sequence. You put in the dirty clothes, send them through the cycles, and the next time you touch them, they are clean and dry – very convenient, as you don’t have to wait around babysitting the laundry.
Another advantage is if you have a small space for your laundry area, an all in one unit fits more easily than two separate machines.
The only catch is that the washer dryer machines don’t tend to have a large capacity; however, that’s a small price to pay for cleaning clothes easily!
Hotpoint Washer Dryer
Now that you’re familiar with all in one washer dryer machines, here are three Hotpoint washer dryer models from which to choose.
WDL520P: This Hotpoint all in one machine is quite energy-efficient, with a “B” rating. This Hotpoint washer dryer has a load capacity of 7kg, with a spin cycle of 1,200 RPM. One of the interesting features is the “half load” wash cycle, and has a total of 16 program cycles. The cost is roughly 350 pounds.
WDL520G: This all in one machine has a wash load capacity of 7kg, and a 5kg dry capacity. The WDL520G also has a half-load cycle as one of its features. Similar to the WDL520P, this machine also has a “B” energy efficiency rating. It’s also priced at about 350 pounds.
WDF740P: The WDF740P unit carries on the energy-efficiency of the other Hotpoint washer dryer models, with a “B” rating. The wash capacity is 7kg, with the dryer capacity being 5kg. This machine, though, has a 1,400 RPM spin speed. There’s a dry sensor included, which helps prevent over-drying a load of clothes. The estimated cost of this Hotpoint washer dryer is 500 pounds.
With several nice models, a Hotpoint washer dryer makes sense for anyone wanting to have the combination of clean clothes, and energy efficiency.
Hotpoint Aquarius Washer Dryer
If you’re in the market for something to clean and dry your clothes, you might want to take a look at a Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer.
Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer models are known for their energy efficiency, rating either an A or B. This means that the cost of operating the washer dryer unit is less than many other manufacturers.
Here are two of the all in one washer dryer machines in the Hotpoint Aquarius line.
Hotpoint Aquarius Washer Dryer Model WDL520G
This model has some quite interesting features. For one, it has a half-load option, which is useful if you need some clothes cleaned, but don’t have enough for a full load. The half-load option lets you save water and energy. This washer dryer model has a 7kg wash capacity, coupled with a 5kg dryer capacity having a 1,200 spin speed.
This machine is front-load, and the typical wash time for the Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer model WDL520G is 144 minutes from dirty clothes in to clean clothes out. The WDL520G has a total of 16 programs.
The size of this Aquarius washer dryer is 850mm high by 595mm wide and 656mm deep. And what’s that sound? For noise levels, this washer dryer comes in at 66 decibels.
Aquarius WDL5490P Washer Dryer
The Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer model WDL5490P is at the top of its energy class, with an “A” rating. It has a 4kg dryer capacity, along with a 7kg washing load. The spin speed of the dry cycle is a very fast 1,400. This Hotpoint Aquarium washer dryer has a cycle called “ready to wear”, which washes and dries a small load in just 60 minutes! Obviously, only a few pieces can be washed and dried in that timeframe, but if you need a particular outfit cleaned fast, it’s a life-saving feature.
The WDL5490P has an auto half-load option which is rather interesting. It has a feature that automatically senses if the drum isn’t full and fills the drum appropriately. This is part of what contributes to its “A” energy rating.
This Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer model is front-loading and has a total of 16 wash programs. On the more prosaic side, the size of the machine is 850mm high by 595mm wide and 535mm deep. The weight is 45kg, and it’s rated at 58 decibels for noise level.
Now you know a little about two of the line, you know what options to think about when selecting a Hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer.
LG Washer Dryers
If you have very little space to spare but hate going to a laundromat, you may want to consider one of the LG washer dryers that are available. Fitting into even the tightest of places, these all in one washer dryers can go where traditional machines cannot. Here are two models of the LG washer dryers for your consideration.
Washer Dryer Overview
In the U.S. at least, the most familiar of the washers and dryers is a pair; one washer and one dryer which function separately. They can be side-by-side or stack one on top of the other.
There’s a new kid in town, though, when it comes to cleaning clothes, and that is a washer/dryer combo. They are often referred to as all in one washer dryers, and the beauty of these units is that you put dirty clothes into the drum, and then next time you touch them, they are clean and dry. This nifty appliance washes the clothes, then turns right around and dries them in the same tub.
The downside to these washer dryers are that they take longer to dry the clothes, and that you can’t have two loads going at once, the way you could with two separate units. But that’s a small price to pay, compared to visiting the laundromat.
LG Washer Dryers
The first of the LG washer dryers is model WM3455HW. This is a ventless system, and it has a capacity of 2.7 cubic feet. Model WM3455HW has 5 water rinse temperatures and 9 wash programs. Here’s something useful; a delay timer so you can program the washer to start while you’re at work, and come home to fresh, clean clothes and linens. It runs on 120 volts and uses 12 amps. Energy Star compliant, the cost of these LG washer dryers is around $1,300 in white. If you’d like the silver version (WM3455HS) of these LG washer dryers, then add another $100 to the cost.
The next of the LG washer dryers is model LGWM3987HW. This model is also a ventless condenser system, and it has a much larger capacity of 4.2 cubic feet. Similar to the previous one, model LGWM3987HW has 5 water rinse temperatures and 9 wash programs, and also has a delay feature. This LG washer dryer has something called “TrueBalance”, which is an anti-vibration system to reduce noise. It runs on 120 volts and uses 12 amps. Energy Star compliant, the cost of these LG washer dryers is around $1,350.
So those are two of the LG washer dryers that are available, and which can ultimately save you money compared to using a laundromat.
