Gas tumble dryer

The gas tumble dryer are very common household kitchen appliances and in fact are getting more and more popular due to it actually being cheaper to run than an electric dryer. By now if you have read through some of the other articles on this site then you know the different types of dyers that you can go for weather its a replacement you need or a new tumble dryer.

Tumble dryers that are run off electric use a heating element in the dryer that heats the clothes up but the gas tumble dryer burns gas instead. Now intially you may think that the gas would use up more home energy than the popular electric tumble dryers but in fact you would use up to 50% more electric than you would gas when drying your clothes, a surprising fact but true.

One of the very few downsides to using a gas tumble dryer is that you cant just install it yourself  like you could with an electric tumble dryer, so the only safe and legal way to get it installed is to pay a plumber to come and do it for you but he must be corgi registered. The cost can vary but the positive side is that once installed you will be saving money everyday when using your dyer, so your bills will be lower. This is certainly the case in the UK so it could be slightly different elswhere, but what ever part of the world you are from make sure you understand the installation regulations,  requirements and laws before spending any money on a gas tumble dryer.

One other thing to take note of is that gas tumble dryers are vented only that means that you will need to have a special vent in your wall which connects to your clothes dryer, or the other solution is to put the pipe from your dryer out through the window. This is fine in the warm summer months but not such a good idea in the winter because the money that you will be saving using your dryer you will probably end up wasting on heating.

This means you may also have to get a builder out to make a small hole in your wall adjacent to where you new dryer is going to go for your pipe to attach to so the excess steam can vent through your pipe and outside.

Maybe you think that a gas tumble dryer is the right solution for you but what ever you decide to buy weather its a washing machine, gas cooker, electric oven or even a condenser tumble dryer make sure you do your research and get plenty of reviews. Some of the best places to buy these items are big reputable online stores like amazon and shopping.com, they are just a couple but there are many more.
